The pomegranate is native to the region from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran. Its interior is divided in thin sheets with little edible seeds.
It has a millenary importance in many cultures, considered as a symbol of prosperity, richness, love and fecundity.
It has a great medicinal value for it is an oxidant, mineralizer. It is used to cure hoarseness. It also prevents mouth, throat and gum infections and preventing cold sores.
It has many culinary uses. We can be used as filling in roasts, desserts or liquors. It may be consumed raw or as sweet cream, juice or jam.
